Sukrit

Sukrit Privacy Policy

What Sukrit keeps, where it is kept, why, who can see it, and how you delete it.

In force from 4 November 2026

1. Introduction

This Privacy Policy describes how Sukrit, the Android app and its services at sukritsetu.com ("Sukrit", "we"), made by Abhishek Kumar, India, handles the personal data of the people who use it ("you"). It covers the app, the account you sign in with, and the servers that keep your data so it comes back on another phone.

1.1 Privacy principles

Sukrit is built on two principles:

  1. We keep only the data Sukrit needs to work as it should, for as long as you keep your account.
  2. Nothing you write is used for advertising, sold, or shown to anyone else. Sukrit has no ads, no advertising or analytics trackers, and no social features.

1.2 Terms of Service

This policy is part of the Terms of Service. Please read both.

2. Legal ground for processing your personal data

We process your personal data on these grounds:

Where the law of your country requires consent for processing (as the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 does in India), signing in with your Google account and using the app is how you give it, and deleting your account is how you take it back.

3. What personal data we use

3.1 Basic account data

You sign in with a Google account. From it we receive and keep your name, your email address, your Google profile photo and a Google account identifier. These make your account; the name and photo are shown to you in the app, to nobody else. Sukrit has no public profiles and no usernames.

3.2 Your seva

Each seva you add is kept in your account: its category, the activities and tags, the note, the date and time, and the names and sizes of any photos or files attached to it.

3.3 Your diary

Each diary entry (a thought) is kept in your account with its date.

3.4 Photos and files

Photos, videos and files are added only when you pick them. The app asks Android for the ones you select; it never reads your whole gallery. Photos and videos are kept in your account's storage; files added "as a file" are kept in a separate file store (see section 4.1). They are shown only to you.

3.5 Your settings

The app's settings (look, language, layout, reminders and the like) are kept in your account so they follow you to another phone.

3.6 Sukrit Plus

Sukrit Plus is a subscription bought through Google Play. Google handles the payment; we never see your card or bank details. From Google we receive a purchase token and the expiry date of the subscription, and keep only a hashed form of the token and that date, to know which plan your account is on.

3.7 Encryption keys

If you turn on end-to-end encryption (section 4.2), your account keeps a wrapped copy of your encryption key that only your passphrase or 64-digit key can unwrap. We cannot unwrap it.

3.8 Technical data

When the app talks to our servers, the servers see the usual technical details of a request, such as your IP address and the app version. They are used only in the moment, to keep the service safe (section 5.2), and no record of them is kept beyond the short-lived request logs that any server keeps.

3.9 What we do not collect

Sukrit contains no advertising, analytics or crash-reporting libraries, no location tracking, and no contact syncing. We do not read your contacts, your calendar, your other apps or your location.

3.10 Permissions the app asks for

PermissionWhy
NotificationsThe daily reminder you set in Settings. It is scheduled on your phone; no server is involved.
Photos and videos (the ones you select)To attach a photo, video or file to a seva.
InternetTo sign in and keep your account in sync.
VibrationThe small haptic touches in the app, which you can turn off.

4. Keeping your personal data safe

4.1 Storing data

Your account, seva, diary, settings, photos and files are stored in India, encrypted, so that nobody with access to the machines can read them. Everything travels between your phone and us over an encrypted connection.

By default your seva and diary are kept with server-client encryption: sent over a secure connection and stored on encrypted disks, private to your account. Row-level security on the database means a signed-in account can only ever read and write its own rows. The keys for this encryption are held by the servers; that is what lets your seva come back on a new phone, and it also means the servers can decrypt your data when you ask for it.

4.2 End-to-end encryption

In Settings, Privacy and Security, you can turn on end-to-end encryption for your seva and diary. It is off by default. When it is on, your seva and diary are sealed on your phone before they are sent, with a key derived from a passphrase or 64-digit key that only you know. The servers keep only the sealed text and a wrapped key they cannot open. Nobody, not even Sukrit, can read them. If you forget your passphrase or key and lose your phone, they cannot be recovered: there is no reset.

Photos, videos, files and settings are not end-to-end encrypted; they are kept as described in 4.1.

4.3 Retention

We keep your data for as long as your account exists. Deleting a seva, a diary entry, a photo or a file in the app removes it from your account on the next sync. Deleting your account removes everything (section 8).

5. Processing your personal data

5.1 Our service

We process your data to show it back to you: to keep your seva, diary, photos, files and settings in your account, and to bring them to any phone you sign in on.

5.2 Safety and security

To keep Sukrit safe and working, the usual technical details of a request (section 3.8) are used in the moment, for example to stop one source from flooding the service. No record of them is kept.

5.3 Reminders

The daily reminder runs on your phone. No server knows when it fires.

5.4 No advertising or profiling

We do not use your data to show you ads, build a profile of you, or train anything. We do not sell it.

6. Who your personal data may be shared with

6.1 Google

Google handles signing in with your Google account and, through Google Play, the app and the Sukrit Plus subscription. It receives only what signing in and paying need, under Google's own privacy policy.

6.2 Other people

Nothing in your account is shown to other users. Sukrit has no sharing, following, groups or public pages.

6.3 Law

We disclose personal data only if a court or authority with jurisdiction over us lawfully requires it. Data that is end-to-end encrypted cannot be disclosed in readable form, because we cannot read it.

7. Your rights

7.1 What you may ask

7.2 Exercising your rights

Most of this you can do in the app. For anything else, write to the address in section 11. We answer from the account's email address, to be sure the request is yours.

8. Deleting data

8.1 Your account

Open Settings, Privacy and Security, Delete account. This removes your account and everything in it: your seva, diary, settings, encryption keys, photos and files. It cannot be undone. The steps are also on the Delete account page, with a way to ask by email if you can no longer open the app.

Deleting the account does not cancel a Sukrit Plus subscription; cancel it in Google Play (see the Terms of Service).

8.2 Seva, diary entries, photos and files

Delete any of them in the app; they are removed from your account on the next sync.

8.3 Signing out

Signing out removes your data from that phone. It stays in your account until you delete it.

9. Children

Sukrit is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly keep an account for anyone under 13. If you believe a child has made one, write to us and we will delete it.

10. Changes to this policy

When this policy changes, the new version is posted here with its date. A change that matters to you is announced in the app.
